So things have been pretty crazy here. I'm loving it for the most part though. For those of you who don't know, I'm living with my former junior high youth leaders. Jeff is the assistant pastor here. They came and asked me to live with them. I was planning on doing laundry over there, but I am glad they let me stay. I am staying in their guestroom downstairs. I have my own bathroom and everything. It is a nice setup and they are great to me. I'm enjoying living with them. Their children are so adorable. I'll try to put some pictures up now that it is a new month.
I did group work with the eighth graders today. It went better than I thought it would. Of course the class clown, Larry tried to act up toward the end, but I envisioned everyone acting like Larry and thankfully that wasn't the case. I only had to say something three times. All three to Larry. They didn't have as many questions as they sometimes do either. Have to love junior highers. I've been giving quizzes like crazy. It is nice to have a break in teaching, but then I have to grade them. Details...
This is my first week with a full class load. I'm also babysitting two nights this week so I should be sufficiently exhausted. There have been some frustrations with being here. As always, life is not like I planned. I do for the most part really love being here. When I don't, I chose to because I know without a doubt that this is where God wants me for these few weeks so I can be content in that. I don't know why God wanted me here, but I know he did so I'm taking advantage of every opportunity I have while I am here. I miss all my Northland friends and of course my Chinese friends as well. Hopefully I'll visit Northland in December and China in July. Can't wait.
